The IJCAI-11 Opening will take place at 19.00 hours at the Concert Hall of the Palau de la Música
Catalana and will be followed by a Reception at the Foyer. Craig Knoblock, IJCAI-11 Conference Chair, will chair the Opening Ceremony.
 
During the opening ceremony the following awards will be given: Distinguished Services Award and the IJCAI/JAIR Award, and the following
awards will be announced: Computers and Thought Award, Research and Excellence Award and the IJCAI Distinguished Paper Awards.
 
The opening reception will include tapas, drinks and the unique performance of a thrilling musical tragic-comedy Casparo, fragments of an Opera. This opera has been composed by the AI researcher Luc Steels with libretto of the neuroscientist Òscar Vilarroya. The Venue is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, masterpiece of the art nouveau. It is an outstanding building with a special concept of space and light. Visiting the Palau is a must for any tourist.
 
The conference badge gives access to the Opening ceremony. Please do not forget your badge! There will be a registration table at the entrance of the Palau for those attendees not yet registered at the conference.
 
If you plan to register at the Palau, be there soon after doors open at 18:00.
